Thames Valley vs King Country

On Friday 11th of September I went down to Taupo for a game of rugby. It took a good 2 hours to get down there. The day before the game we went to the rugby stadium and played a game of touch. We went to our cabins and there was four of us in a cabin. We were staying at Debretts. At 4:30pm we went to Debretts swimming pools and we got out at 7 o'clock. We got dressed up into our track suit and then drove down to Lone Star for dinner.

I woke up the next day and got dressed into my track suit and picked my bag up and walked out the and jumped into the van. When we got there we all went into the changing sheds and 15 minutes later we ran out of the sheds. When we were warming up before our game Mark told us to do it like we meant it so we all did. If you want to know what number I am - lock number five.

The ref came over and checked our boots and mouth guards, then we had 1 minute until our game. The ref blew his whistle. We went onto the field and the game started. The kick off went and we chased the ball.  The first 10 minutes of the game we had the same amount of points. At half time we got a growling from the coach about needing to be better in our scrums and kickoffs. In the second half we smashed them 34-10 it was a great game. We must have listened to our coach at half time!

My First Deer

One weekend we got up and went to Rotorua for a day of hunting. So when we got down there my cousin wanted to shoot his first deer so we found a mob of deer and we gave him my dads gun and I had his gun. There were two stags at the bottom of the gully playing in a slip. So he got down there and missed both of the deer and 8 Hinds ran out from the other side of the bush and stopped in another gully I had the 223 it is a small gun but it’s range is only 200 to 220 meters but I shot my deer from 300 meters. Dad was videoing me because he thought that I was going to miss the deer and run away. When I looked through the scoop I  was really nervous so when I got the deer on the cross I pulled the trigger. It was right on dark when we got down to the deer so we could not carry it out because we had to go through a creek then a river then through the trees. When I shot the deer I was so happy that I shoot it. Just seeing it roll down the hill was pretty cool.

Hunting in Rotorua

On a late afternoon we went down to  Rotorua to go for a hunt. We got to the farm. There was a gully with bush in it. We were sitting down on the grass waiting for a deer or pig to jump out. I thought I could see something white moving in the grass. Dad walked over to see what it was  it was a bit of plastic moving around in the grass.  Dad just unloaded his  gun. Two deer jumped out of the grass dad could nearly touch them. It was pretty cool seeing them jumping over the fence. They ran up the side of the hill. We went to the top of the hill so we could see everything.It was a pretty big hill then we did't know were they went. Just then we herd a branch brake we saw the two deer dad took the shot right where he wanted it to go. It dropped him it was hard to carry it out.It was a big fallow hine. I liked this hunt because I liked finding it in the blackberry bush.
