One weekend we got up and went to Rotorua for a day of hunting. So when we got down there my cousin wanted to shoot his first deer so we found a mob of deer and we gave him my dads gun and I had his gun. There were two stags at the bottom of the gully playing in a slip. So he got down there and missed both of the deer and 8 Hinds ran out from the other side of the bush and stopped in another gully I had the 223 it is a small gun but it’s range is only 200 to 220 meters but I shot my deer from 300 meters. Dad was videoing me because he thought that I was going to miss the deer and run away. When I looked through the scoop I was really nervous so when I got the deer on the cross I pulled the trigger. It was right on dark when we got down to the deer so we could not carry it out because we had to go through a creek then a river then through the trees. When I shot the deer I was so happy that I shoot it. Just seeing it roll down the hill was pretty cool.

Coming down the winding road, looking for deer and goats out the window, we come across the driveway. We meet the man that owns the farm and bush. He drives us to the hut and gives the buggy to us for the weekend. As soon as we unpacked our stuff out of the buggy we went hunting trying to look for the big red stag 400 m away. I did a Fallow grunt that made him stand up. The gun went BANG and hit him in the shoulder, he ran down the other side of the hill. Five minutes later he came up and sat down again. I did another Fallow grunt. Bang! He rolled 300m down the hill. It was easy for us to drag him down the hill, but we were scared that it was going to break an antler. So we took some photos and got the buggy, we did about three trips to get the stag to the chiller.
Cool background mas. : )
